I have 18 years of experience in the drug discovery field and hold a master’s degree in biotechnology from Bangalore University. I began my research career at AstraZeneca India Pvt. Ltd. I played a key role in designing and executing various assays, generating critical data that contributed to the advancement of multiple drug discovery programs. I was involved in the validation of an in-silico-based high-throughput screen for identifying novel TB treatment combinations. Additionally, I developed a rapid method using auto-luminescent Mycobacterium tuberculosis to assess the anti-mycobacterial potency of compounds. My work also included investigating the role of efflux pumps in antibiotic resistance, and I contributed as the lead biologist for a target-based exploratory program.
In 2014, I joined Bugworks Research Pvt. Ltd. as part of the Microbiology team, where I continue to focus on in vitro potency evaluation and target identification of Bugworks’ novel compounds. I have represented the company at several international conferences, presenting scientific data and contributing to discussions on drug discovery and antimicrobial resistance. Over the years, I have authored more than 30 peer-reviewed research articles in esteemed journals.
