Neerja Rastogi currently pursuing my PhD work through University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU), Bengaluru. Area of my work is iron deficiency anemia with a focus on the effect of plant formulations and phyto-actives, used in herbo-metallic formulation containing iron, on in vitro iron bioavailability, iron-associated inflammation and oxidative stress. After my bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry (3 units) and a brief stint in research, I obtained a master’s degree in Biochemistry (by research). Subsequently, I worked in the clinical research and medical publishing industry for a few years. In 2016, I joined Kasturba Health Society’s Medical Research Centre, Mumbai as a research fellow on a clinical project to study effect of holistic turmeric extract on cervical precancer. After a few years, just before the Covid pandemic hit globally, I got an oppotunity to realise my dream of pursuing doctoral studies. I registered as PhD scholar in 2021. My personal interests include reading about science, spirituality, and various cultures, connecting with nature through treks and travelling to new places.
