Aritra Kshettry is a conservation ecologist dedicated to developing inclusive models that balance wildlife conservation with the safety.

Aritra Kshettry is a conservation ecologist dedicated to developing inclusive models that balance wildlife conservation with the safety and food security of local communities. His work focuses on fostering safer shared spaces between people and large wildlife, particularly elephants, using evidence-based and transdisciplinary approaches. His research and conservation efforts aim to minimize damage caused by elephants, prevent human casualties from accidental encounters, and ensure the free movement of elephants in fragmented habitats. By integrating ecological research with community-based solutions, he strives to create sustainable coexistence strategies that benefit both people and wildlife. As the Lead for Elephant Conservation at WWF-India, he works closely with local communities, policymakers, and researchers to implement conservation strategies that promote human-wildlife coexistence. His approach combines scientific research, traditional knowledge, and technological innovations to mitigate conflicts and secure a future where both elephants and people can thrive in shared landscapes.
