Angel Sudha is a public health researcher specializing in Health Policy and Systems Research (HPSR) and maternal and child health, with a focus on fostering positive, respectful, and empowering birth experiences.

Angel Sudha is a public health researcher specializing in Health Policy and Systems Research (HPSR) and maternal and child health, with a focus on fostering positive, respectful, and empowering birth experiences. With a foundation in Community Health Nursing, she transitioned from nursing education to public health research, driven by her passion for improving health systems and maternal care.
As a PhD scholar at Angel examines health system factors shaping obstetric care, particularly in promoting normal deliveries and reducing non-medically indicated Caesarean sections. She co-led the UNICEF-funded evaluation of midwifery programs in Odisha and Telangana.
At IPH Bengaluru, Angel serves as the Member Secretary of the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) and actively facilitates academic training. Her contributions include providing recommendations to strengthen midwifery programs in Odisha and co-developing strategies to reduce preventable maternal mortality in Telangana. Dedicated to advancing respectful, evidence-based maternity care, Angel is committed to ensuring that childbirth practices prioritize women’s autonomy, choices, and well-being.
