Course Objectives
Introduction to physiology and metabolism in Ayurveda.
Ayurveda food classifications and principles of treatment
Dietary management in Ayurveda for selected clinical conditions – lectures by practicing vaidyas
Examining case studies and real-world examples to illuminate your own practice.
Course Logistics
An academically intense course with live sessions spanning 1.5 hours each session. Total duration: 30 hours. Credits: 2
All lecture recordings and PPTs will be shared.

Pertinent articles will be provided where possible. Material has been specifically created to allow non-Ayurveda trained knowledge seekers to comprehend the content and a follow on to the "Introduction to Ayurveda Dietetics" course.
Classes are expected to be discussion-based and hence, class size is limited to 30 participants only.
Enquiry based learning is encouraged, thus practicing nutritionists and dieticians are most likely to find the material more relevant.
Assignments and quizzes are compulsory as they will compliment your learning. They should be completed and submitted within the prescribed time limit.
The course has 3 units:
Unit 1: Theoretical Concepts in Ayurveda Relevant to Clinical Dietetics:
Role of Swasthya, nidra, and brahmacharya, Guna siddhanta and rasa-guna relationships in food ingredients, Gut microbiome, Agni, and Strotas, Dhatus, Mala, and Ama, Shad Kriyakala (Ayurvedic understanding of disease pathogenesis), Ayurvedic treatment terminologies and practices
Unit 2: Ayurvedic Culinary Aspects:
Ahara vargas (food groupings in Ayurveda), Rasayana concepts and diets, Ayurvedic cooking: from shastras to modern kitchen
Unit 3: Masterclasses on Ayurvedic Dietetic Approaches for Clinical Conditions:
Diabetes (retinopathy), Cancer dietetics (palliative and end-of-life care), Acid reflux, bloating, and constipation, Fibroids and painful period management, Intermittent fasting for metabolic conditions (with case studies), Management of psoriasis, Chronic kidney disease, Panchakarma and diet in liver-related disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Eligibility
Professional dieticians and nutritionists, who have been counselling patients or working in the nutrition field for at least 2 years. AND
Entry restricted to those who have completed our “Introduction to Ayurveda Dietetics” online course.

Course output
You will receive a certificate for 2 credits. In line with NEP, this will be admissible in Indian universities and submitted to your credit bank.

Information for "Select Topics" sessions that are running as part of our Advanced Ayurveda Dietetics 2025 course
These sessions are open to all; however, the content is tailored to those who have completed our introductory course and, familiar with food and treatment concepts in Ayurveda.
BAMS graduates are welcome. These sessions will NOT be informative for those with little to no knowledge of Ayurveda. If you are confused about your eligibility, write to wellness@tdu.edu.in
You will have access to reading materials and PPTs for the sessions that you signed up for. You can download this information. These materials are for your personal use only and should not be shared with anyone else.
You will receive a recording of the session you have signed up to attend. The recording will be available up to 12 July 2025. You cannot download the videos.
Sign up for any session in units 2 and 3 for only Rs - 360/- per session or take all sessions (12 total) in Unit 2 and 3 for just Rs - 3,600/-
