Tilaka M Rao research delves into the nature of Indian political thought with reference to lokaparamparā and the problems involved in understanding Sanskrit texts.
Dr. Tilaka M. Rao holds a PhD in Sanskrit from Pondicherry University. Introduced to Sanskrit at an early age, he underwent 12 years of rigorous Vedic training, mastering ten major Upanishads. He has also studied Kāvya, Pāṇini’s Aṣṭādhyāyī, Vedānta, Nyāya, Sāṃkhya, and Yoga. With over seven years of teaching and research experience, he has served as Assistant Professor at MIT School of Vedic Sciences, Pune, Deputy Director at Veda Vijnana Shodha Samsthanam, Fellow at the India Studies Unit, CESS, Bengaluru and Assistant Professor at Chanakya University. Specializing in Samskrit Vyākaraṇa, he authored Aṣṭādhyāyī-praveśa, a primer on Sanskrit grammar. He has been awarded the Sir Jadunath Sarkar Fellowship for Indian History (2025–26). His research delves into the nature of Indian political thought with reference to lokaparamparā and the problems involved in understanding Sanskrit texts.
