Dr. Shaik Vazeed Pasha

Dr. Shaik Vazeed Pasha is an Adjunct Faculty at TDU, Bengaluru, and a Research Scientist and Co-Project Lead at NIAS, Bengaluru. He holds a Ph.D. from NRSC–ISRO Hyderabad and Andhra University. His interdisciplinary research focuses on biodiversity, natural resources, and sustainability, integrating Remote Sensing, GIS, ecology, environmental science, and socio-economic perspectives to address challenges in forest ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, climate change, carbon dynamics, invasive species management, and human–wildlife interactions.
Dr. Pasha an interdisciplinary environmental scientist with expertise in geospatial technologies and its applications on biodiversity conservation, forest ecology, natural resource management, and. My research focuses on integrating ecology, Remote Sensing, GIS, environmental sciences, and socio-economic perspectives to generate knowledge and solutions for sustainability challenges. I am particularly interested in advancing research at the interface of biodiversity, natural resources, technology, and society through collaborative, transdisciplinary approaches.
Dr. Shaik Vazeed Pasha is an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU), Bengaluru, and a Research Scientist and Co-Project Lead at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS). With over 12 years of research experience spanning NIAS, NRSC–ISRO, IIT Kharagpur, and other leading institutions, he specializes in integrating geospatial technologies, ecological sciences, and environmental policy to address complex sustainability challenges.
His research focuses on biodiversity assessment, forest ecosystem dynamics, natural resource management, biomass and carbon stock estimation, invasive species ecology, climate change impacts, and human–nature interactions. Dr. Pasha has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, receiving over 1,100 citations. In 2023, he represented India as a BRICS Young Scientist, recognized by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Through interdisciplinary research, field-based investigations, and mentoring, he promotes innovative approaches that bridge science, society, and policy for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
