Harshada Satchidanand Gauns is an award-winning environmental leader and Founder President of Arannya Environment Research Organisation (AERO), bringing over 10 years of experience in biodiversity research, policy advisory, and environmental education.
She is recognized for pioneering India's first village Biodiversity Atlas at Mayem and leading impactful grassroots conservation initiatives
Harshada Satchidanand Gauns is an environmental leader, educator, and the Founder President of Arannya Environment Research Organisation (AERO) with over a decade of dedicated experience in biodiversity research, community conservation, and environmental literacy. She holds a Master’s degree in Zoology from Goa University and has established landmark conservation projects, including developing India's first village Biodiversity Atlas at Mayem and establishing pelagic bird monitoring initiatives along Goa's coast.
A former Assistant Professor of Zoology and Environmental Studies, she leads widespread ecological education drives, including coordinating the Wipro Earthian program across 200+ schools and spearheading inclusive nature-watching initiatives for children with disabilities. Gauns also contributes actively to regional environmental governance and curriculum development, serving as an Expert Member on the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) and on the Board of Studies in Interdisciplinary Areas for the Goa Board.
