Dr. H.S. Sushma is an ecologist studying primates and other arboreal mammals in the Western Ghats. Her research broadly focuses ecology and conservation of primates, community ecology of arboreal mammals, and plant-frugivore interactions.
She holds a PhD. degree in Psychology from the University of Mysore. She is a Doctoral Associate at Foundation for Ecological Research Advocacy and Learning (FERAL), Tamil Nadu. Her research broadly focuses on behavioural ecology of arboreal mammals, landscape level distribution patterns of endangered primate species, and frugivory and seed dispersal in the Western Ghats. Her current research focuses on impact of anthropogenic pressures on plant-frugivore interactions in the Western Ghats. Sushma joined TDU as an Assistant Professor in 2025.
