Chaluvadi Jagannatha is a research scholar and a post-doctoral fellow at the Trans-Disciplinary University of Health Sciences and Technology, Bengaluru
Dr. Chaluvadi Jagannatha holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Kuvempu University, Shivamogga. His research examines how language politics and identity issues in India are influenced by colonial-era debates rooted in Western ideas of nation, religion, ethnicity, and language, which were later adopted by the Indian state. He also seeks to explore the role of language in shaping the pre-colonial Indian state. He has been associated with the Swagram Fellowship Programme at MGRDPRU University, Gadag, from January 21, 2023, to the present, serving as a working committee member and mentor. He voluntarily conducted a village survey with Youth for Seva (2024) and served as project lead and coordinator for the Swagram Fellowship Project from January to September 2024.
After schooling and pre-university education in Hospet, Chaluvadi Jagannath completed his B.A. at the Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Bellary. He then completed his master's in political science at the Kuvempu University, Shivamogga. In 2024, he was awarded a PhD for his thesis, where he discussed his research on the problem of language and politics.
