Dr. Shivanand Savatagi

Dr. Shivanand B. Savatagi is a public health researcher and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Transdisciplinary Health Sciences and Technology, Bengaluru. With over 11 years of experience in research, teaching, and program implementation, his work focuses on self-reliance in primary healthcare, integrative health, and health systems and policy research.
Dr. Shivanand B. Savatagi is passionate public health researcher and love teaching public health students. Apart from professional journey, I am passionate cricketer, and love playing badminton, and running.
Dr. Shivanand B. Savatagi is a public health scholar with over a decade of experience in research, teaching, and health systems strengthening. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Health from the University of Transdisciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU), Bengaluru, and an MPH from KLE University, Belagavi. His research explores self-reliance in primary healthcare, integrative health, and community-based approaches to health system resilience. Dr. Savatagi has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at national and international forums, including the Institute of Tropical Medicine (Belgium), AIIMS Patna, and the Health Systems Global Symposium. He has been awarded multiple fellowships, including from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Emerging Voice for Global Health (EV4GH) 2024, and the Belgian Development Cooperation. As a resource person and mentor, he actively engages in advancing qualitative and mixed-methods research capacity, fostering interdisciplinary perspectives in public health education and practice.
