Dr Rubeka

Dr. Rubeka is a Postdoctoral Fellow at TDU, with a Ph.D. from IIT Guwahati in Food Technology and a PMRF awardee. She holds a B.Tech in Food Technology from Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, and an M.Tech in Food Technology from Jamia Hamdard University. Her research focuses on pigmented and underutilized grains, food chemistry, functional foods, and value-added product development at the interface of food technology, agriculture, and biotechnology.
Dr. Rubeka, is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Transdisciplinary University, Bengaluru. She holds a Ph.D. in Food Technology from the School of Agro and Rural Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, where she was a recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF). She holds B.Tech. in Food Technology from Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, followed by an M.Tech in Food Technology from Jamia Hamdard University. Prior to her doctoral research, Rubeka gained experience in both corporate and research sectors, serving as Assistant Manager (Research & Marketing) at the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture and as Senior Research Fellow at ICAR–IARI, New Delhi. Her research broadly integrates food technology with agriculture and biotechnology, with a focus on food processing, food functionality, upcycling technologies, rural livelihood, waste valorization and novel product development.
Dr. Rubeka is a Food Tech researcher and educator having PhD from IIT Guwahati. She was a Prime Minister Research Fellow and worked on Pigmented rice of North East India at School of Agro and Rural Technology. She holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Food Technology from Delhi University and Jamia Hamdard University. Her research interests include core and allied sectors of food and agriculture in the fields of underutilized crops, rural development, agriculture extension, food waste valorization, fortification, food policy and ICT in agriculture.
Rubeka has authored over 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books such as Future Foods, Journal of Food Composition and Analysis and Indian Journal of Extension Education. She has also presented her research at prestigious conferences. During her PhD, Ms. Rubeka worked as a guest lecturer at three different universities of Assam. She also held SRF role in ICAR-IARI. Ms. Rubeka actively volunteers in leadership positions for different organizations and institutional events. She is dedicated to advancing women in STEM especially in Food Technology. She is the one who always find interest in Research Projects, Management, Communication, Teamwork and Leadership. She aims giving her bit to nature and society. A little touch of adventure, art & craft, music and good books keeps her moving good.
