Dr. Ashwini is an Assistant Professor in The University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU), Bengaluru. Her work specializes in understanding nature and problems in the domain of literature. It intends to develop pedagogy to understand texts and performances in Indian traditions and characterizes the problems associated with the public discourse in India.
Dr. Ashwini B. Desai holds a PhD in English literature from Tumkur University. She has been a Fellow at the India Studies Unit, Centre for Educational and Social Studies (CESS) and later has served as Assistant Professor at the Centre for Study of Cultures, Chanakya University, Bengaluru. She has also been the principal investigator of a project on obstacles (Upadhis) in reading Indian texts for the IKS division, Govt of India. She was also a Co-Principal Investigator to a Translation Project from Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. She specializes in understanding nature and problems in the domain of literature. Her work also extends into characterizing the problems associated with the public discourse in India.
