Ashok Kumar a development communication professional with over 12 years of experience in policy research, civic storytelling, community engagement, and sustainability initiatives. My work focuses on using narrative journalism and grassroots communication to connect communities, policy, and environmental action. I have worked across areas including climate action, native tree conservation, sustainable land management, financial literacy, women-led entrepreneurship, education, and public awareness.
Ashok Kumar professional experience includes field research and policy analysis, working with government departments, FPOs, cooperative societies, rural communities, schools, and development organisations. I have trained rural women entrepreneurs, supported sustainable practices in government schools, developed public communication campaigns, and documented grassroots innovations and impact stories.
Ashok Kumar founded Om Wan, an initiative focused on conserving native tree biodiversity, promoting community participation, and advancing sustainable land management. Through my work, I aim to document indigenous knowledge, strengthen awareness around native species, and use storytelling as a tool to inspire community-led environmental conservation and meaningful social change.
