Arijit Pal is an interdisciplinary researcher whose work spans sustainable development, conservation, primatology, evolutionary ecology, food systems, and human–non-human relationships. As Senior Manager at FOLU India, he advances evidence-based research and policy on regenerative agriculture, nature-based solutions, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and climate-resilient food systems, integrating science, policy, and practice to support sustainable and equitable futures.
Arijit Pal is an interdisciplinary researcher whose work bridges conservation biology, evolutionary anthropology, primatology, ecology, and sustainable development. His research explores evolutionary biology, social learning, cultural evolution, human–non-human relationships, and nature-based solutions, integrating ecological and evolutionary perspectives to understand interactions between people and the more-than-human world. His work on nonhuman primates examines behavioural innovation, social transmission, and adaptation in rapidly changing anthropogenic landscapes, providing insights into the evolution of intelligence, culture, and human origins. Alongside this, his applied conservation research focuses on biodiversity conservation, human–wildlife coexistence, and ecosystem management through evidence-based, implementation-oriented approaches. As Senior Manager at FOLU India, he advances research and policy on regenerative agriculture, climate-resilient food systems, and nature-based solutions, integrating science, policy, and practice to develop context-specific strategies that balance ecological integrity, human well-being, and sustainable land-use transitions for equitable and resilient futures.
