Institutional Day 2025: celebrating 32 years of our pioneering spirit and impact.

On July 4th, 2025, TDU marked its 32nd Institutional Day. A day steeped in reflection, recognition, and renewal, the event brought together distinguished guests, faculty, staff, and students to celebrate the university’s enduring commitment to integrative health sciences, sustainability, and global collaboration.
The day began with a guided campus tour of the TDU and IAIM departments, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Darshan Shankar with the guests exploring the eco-conscious campus and interacting with the different groups to understand their work that embodies the University’s ethos of harmony between tradition and innovation.
The formal program commenced with a soulful invocation by Dr. Sahana, setting a reverent tone for the afternoon. The University then extended a heartfelt welcome to its esteemed guests:
Ms. Revathi Kamath, Environmentalist and Landscaper
Mr. Antoine Guillemet, Attaché to the Embassy of France, Bangalore
Dr. Chandrashekhar, Founder Chairman and MD of Vipragen Biosciences
Mr. Steve H. Rasof, Landworks Landscaping Services, LLC
Vice Chancellor Prof. Darshan Shankar delivered the welcome address, reflecting on TDU’s journey and its vision for the future.
Honouring Excellence and Innovation
A special resolution of appreciation was presented to IAIM and ECOSCAPE, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the university’s mission. This was followed by a series of thought-provoking talks by TDU’s own faculty:
‘Ayurveda Guided Alternatives for Endangered Plant Drugs’ – Dr. Subrahmanya Kumar
‘Ayurveda Biology Approach for Early-Stage Prevention of Glucose Metabolism Diseases’ – Dr. Vishnuprasad
‘Ayurveda-Inspired Solutions for Healthy Aging and Cognitive Wellbeing’ – Dr. Ashwini Godbole
Mr. Antoine Guillemet shared insights on “The Scope of Indo-French Cooperationin Food, Nutrition, and Health Sciences”, highlighting the potential for cross-cultural partnerships in research and innovation.
The audience was then treated to inspiring talks by:
Ms. Revathi Kamath, who spoke passionately about the intersection of ecology and design
Dr. Chandrashekhar, who shared his journey in biosciences, and the future of integrative research
Celebrating Our Champions
The day concluded with the much-anticipated prize distribution ceremony for the 2025sports events. Cheers and applause filled the hall as winners were recognized for their athletic achievements. The day came to a fulfilling and heartfelt close with the National Anthem.
