Job Summary

· The candidate will be working with the Ayurveda Biology team which is focused on how various gut mediated factors modulate glucose and lipid metabolism.

· The candidate will be part of both clinical and experimental biology team and will have to work with both Ayurveda physicians and cell and molecular biology experts.

· The candidate is also expected to shoulder the responsibility of day-to-day maintenance of the lab, performing various assays outside the prescribed project (if required as team project)

Qualification

Essential Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences / Biology / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Pharmacology or related disciplines, or B.Pharm / M.Pharm from a recognized university.

 

Candidates qualified national eligibility tests like CSIR, DBT etc. will be given preference.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • An inclination towards Ayurveda concepts and research.

  • Research experience in diabetes, metabolic biology, or clinical research.

  • Hands-on experience in experimental biology techniques such as cell culture, molecular biology assays, biochemical or metabolic assays, and handling clinical samples.

  • Experience in in-silico analysis, including bioinformatics, molecular docking, pathway analysis, or data analysis related to metabolic diseases will be an added qualification.

  • Ability to contribute to data analysis, scientific writing, and interdisciplinary research projects

Experience

· 1-2 years of research experience in experimental biology research and/or clinical research is necessary.

· However highly motivated fresh graduates with strong research desire and independent thinking can also apply.

Skills

· Strong understanding of diabetes biology, glucose and lipid metabolism, and related metabolic pathways.

· Proficiency in experimental biology techniques, including cell culture, molecular biology assays, and · biochemical/metabolic assays.

· Ability to work with clinical samples and experimental datasets.

· Experience in in-silico analysis, including bioinformatics tools, molecular docking, pathway analysis, and statistical/data analysis.

· Competence in scientific data interpretation, documentation, and research report/manuscript writing.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in interdisciplinary research teams.

‍Job Responsibilities

· Conduct experimental and clinical research related to diabetes, glucose metabolism, and metabolic health.

· Perform laboratory experiments including cell culture, molecular biology assays, and biochemical/metabolic analyses.

· Assist in collection, processing, and analysis of clinical samples and research data.

· Carry out in-silico analyses such as bioinformatics, molecular docking, and pathway analysis related to metabolic biology.

· Maintain laboratory records, data documentation, and research databases.

· Contribute to data analysis, preparation of reports, publications, and project documentation.

· Support coordination of research activities, collaborations, and project deliverables within interdisciplinary teams.

Project Duration

Initially for one year and extendable up to three years depending on the fund availability and performance

Proposed fellowship / Salary / Consultancy

For candidates with sufficient experience, a consolidated amount of ₹40,000 per month will be paid till the probationary period (3 months) and will be revised to ₹42,000 + HRA (as per university policy) after the probation.
