Who is the course designed for?
The country has a big shortage of plant taxonomists. This is a program for creating research oriented field taxonomists. Any Graduate in Life Science who has passion for Plant life and has curiosity to learn about classical and modern methods of Plant Systematics, Evolution and Genetics. Someone who has genuine interest to explore the world of plant diversity, trekking, has keen observation skills and love for nature.
About M. Sc. by research in Plant Taxonomy course
It is a postgraduate Plant Taxonomy course. The course syllabus is designed in such a way that it imparts basic theoretical knowledge, lab skills along with extensive practical training in Plant systematics (Pure and applied taxonomy).
Course Eligibility
Any Graduate (B. Sc.) in Life Science who has passion for Plant life and has curiosity to learn about classical and modern methods of Plant Systematics, Evolution and Genetics. Applicant must submit statement of purpose.

Demand for taxonomic expertise arises from many professional fields, other than systematics research itself.
Graduates will possess inter-disciplinary skills suitable for a wide range of applications and start up careers in research, government and non-governmental organization, institutions, councils, conservation agencies, industries, consultancies, museums and botanical gardens.
In additions the course will provide student foundation for engaging in PhD in areas of taxonomy, molecular systematics, ecology, evolution, and applied conservation.
