We at TDU aim to provide learning opportunities – not based on your economic background but intellectual inquisitiveness. We strive to promote the generation of trans–disciplinary, multi-cultural knowledge; you will be introduced to the value of multi -cultural and cross cultural knowledge without undermining the value of knowledge derived from any particular cultural and intellectual tradition.

Application Process

  • Students can download the appropriate application form given below.

  • The completely filled forms along with DD no. / Online transfer transaction ID and all necessary documents should be submitted either by post or in person to the TDU Academics Office. 

  • Only applications that are complete in all respects will be considered for assessment and admission.

Admission to any programme at TDU is a two step process as given below.



  • Completely filled in application forms would be screened for their correctness and adherence to specified regulations.

  • The application forms that fit the criteria will be passed on to an admissions committee established by the Registrar (Academics)

  • The committee members will evaluate the applications on the basis of academics as well as non-academic achievements furnished by the applicant.

  • Applications without proper supporting document will not be accepted


Personal Interview

  • Shortlisted applicants will receive an invitation to appear for interview by email.

  • The candidates should respond within the specified deadline.

  • The interview will be conducted by a panel comprising of not less than two members, who are nominated by the Registrar (Academics)

  • The selection will be based on parameters like,

    • Purpose of doing research,

    • Track record of academic and non-academic achievements,

    • Communication skills,

    • Confidence level of applicant,

    • General awareness of challenges in the field chosen for research.


Applicant Categories


Applicants who are domicile for 5 years or more in Karnataka.


Applicants who are not domicile in Karnataka.


Foreign Nationals, Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives.

For Domicile Karnataka Category, students shall be required to submit 5 years study certificate in Karnataka duly attested by the respective Block Education Officer.
For Foreign / NRI Category, students shall be required to obtain the Equivalency certificate from the AIU, Delhi and have a score of at least 6.5 in IELTS or equivalent qualifying test for English language proficiency
